Jonathan is originally from Fredericksburg VA, where he first served in the Church working as the Director of Youth Ministries at St. George’s Episcopal Church. He received his M.Div from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2010, and then spent a year at Virginia Theological Seminary doing a post-graduate diploma in Anglican Studies. He was ordained to the transitional deaconate on June 18, 2011. As a former prep school teacher and graduate school teaching assistant, educating people about the Christian faith remains an important aspect of Jonathan’s ministry. At St. Luke’s, Jonathan is focused on the spiritual formation of children and youth, and dedicated to encouraging and integrating their contributions in every area of the life of the church. Jonathan is married to Betsy, who is a social worker. The two of them met at the University of Virginia, where they both majored in English and Religious Studies. Jonathan and Betsy have two cats who add energy and personality to their lovely new home. In his spare time Jonathan enjoys reading, writing, cycling and hiking. |
