Our Vision:
All Children’s Ministries programs are designed through the lens of the Saint Luke’s vision statement:
Living together as Disciples of Christ, we will:
Grow personally in faith,
acknowledging our imperfection and need of grace.
Build an accepting and transforming community,
extending God’s unconditional welcome to all.
Work alongside our neighbors,
forming partnerships to serve the world.

The Church School Curriculum:
Our children grow personally in faith through our church school curriculum and the many special programs developed to enhance our children’s spiritual development.
“Godly Play” and Chapel, ages 2-6 (1st Grade): Godly Play teaches theological reflection in children. Parents drop off and sign in their children in their respective age group classroom in the Education Building at 9:50 a.m. After the church service, parents pick up and sign out their children from the classroom.
Rotation Workshop, grades 2-5: During the 2012-2013 program year, the children will reflect on the theme “Jesus Feeds Us” through Bible stories, the Holy Spirit and the Christian community.
All Grades 2-5 enter the church at the Peace to receive communion with their families.
Instructed Eucharist (2 times a year) The children experience an entire Eucharist in the chapel with step by step explanations, designed to help our children understand the worship service. The children also have the opportunity to ask questions about why we do the things we do in our worship service.
Early Communion Instruction Seder
Twice annually families are invited to a Seder feast which helps them associate the elements of our Eucharist to Jesus’ last supper and the traditional Seder feast.
Family Worship (3 times a year) The children participate in multiple roles leading worship for the entire congregation.
Summer Worship Children attend church with their families at 10 a.m. After the Gospel Reading, the Crucifer leads the children to the tent on the lawn for a bible story and craft. The children return to church at the Peace to receive communion with their families. Last summer’s curriculum was Joseph.
