Outreach Celebration




Outreach Celebration 2013 kicks off Saturday, May 4 with Breakfast & Blessing, followed by opportunities for service that day and throughout May.  Many activities are great for families with kids!  Sign-up below - check as many activities as you like.

    • BREAKFAST & BLESSING KICK-OFF - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      8:00 am - 9:00 am in the Parish Hall. Outreach volunteers gather for muffins, coffee and fruit served by volunteers. All volunteers will be sent off to activities after a blessing by the clergy and a group photo. Family volunteers especially encouraged!

    • FIX-UP PROJECT AT L'EGLISE DE L'EPIPHANIE

      9:00am, Saint John's Church, Stamford. Depart for Stamford immediately after Breakfast and Blessing. Light sanding, prep and painting of walls for the local Haitian congregation.
    • FIX-UP PROJECT MAY 4

    • HOMEFRONT - AGES 14 AND UP

      8:00 am - 4:00 pm, off-campus, with shifts available morning, afternoon or all day. Repair, clean up and paint the home of a neighbor in need. Volunteers 14 and older are encouraged and a small financial donation is requested of the workers to help purchase materials.

    • SPRING CLEAN-UP - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      9:00 am - Noon. Help one of our parishioners to clean their gardens or do a small task around their home. This is a wonderful project for families and children!

      9:00 am - Noon at 8 Woodlawn Place, Stamford. Help with basic clean-up and landscaping at the south end campus of our Outreach partner.

    • PREP FOR P2P FOOD DRIVE - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      Collect groceries from Darien-based grocery stores, hand out flyers for Postal Drive, and bring collected food to P2P.

    • FLOWER DELIVERY - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      Noon - 1:00 pm, on campus and around town. Pick up arrangements made from Sunday's altar flowers and deliver to parishioners with a message from Caring Connections.

    • PACIFIC HOUSE DINNER - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      Afternoon or evening, on campus or Stamford. Dinner for 50+ clients of Pacific House in Stamford, where Saint Luke's parishioners provide dinner for homeless men regularly. Cook, serve or both.

    • PERSON-TO-PERSON POSTAL FOOD DRIVE - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      Afternoon shifts, on campus. Unload, sort and store food from the town-wide Postal Food Drive. Loads of camaraderie!

    • JUNE 8TH - TAG SALE

      OUTREACH BENEFIT TAG SALE: Raise money for our financial contribution to Feed My Starving Children in October! We need receptionists, pricers, salespeople, movers, and security.

    • COMMUNITY SUPPERS - FAMILY FRIENDLY

      Daytime and evening shifts in the Parish Hall. Shop, cook or serve a delicious supper to parishioners and the wider community. Suppers take place every Thursday, 5:00 - 7:00 pm, with many shifts to shop, cook and serve. Sign up and we'll contact you about a specific date.
