YOUTH OUTREACH
Youth outreach is a corner stone of our youth program here at Saint Luke's. Not only are we committed to doing outreach throughout the year, but we also raise money to go work in Bluff, UT and Lewiston, ME. Listed below are brief desciptions of each, some pictures, and how we fundraise to make these trips happen. Also, as information becomes available for the summer trips, you will find it here.
- Lewiston, ME
For grades 7 and 8, this trip brings together our youth group as we help the people of Trinity Church and work in their Jubilee center. The Trinitiy Jubilee center is a safe haven for the homeless and hungry and is in constant need of repair. During our time at Trinity, we will renovate and and work alongside clients from the area. This trip is incredibly powerful and should not be missed!
-
Bluff, UT
This trip, for grades 9th-12th takes us across the United States to work on the Navajo Indian reservation for a week during the summer. While there, we facilitate a Vacation Bible School and do construction work in the afternoon. We immerse ourselves in the culture and make every effort to expand our spiritual community through the customs of the Dine.

- Youth Sunday
On November 19th, Saint Luke's Parish is going to be doing something VERY different. At the 10:15 AM Holy Eucharist, you might notice some things have changed: youth have taken over. And we think it's a very good thing, indeed. If you want to get involved-whether it's making music, serving at the altar, or helping out behind the scenes, contact Alexandra immediately for more information. After a vibrant worship experience, we will head to the parish hall for our Fall Fundraiser -
Fall Service Auction
After our wildly successful Youth Sunday service, we will head to the Parish Hall for a brunch celebration of all that is youth. We'll watch the Navajoland DVD, sign up for trips, hear from youth, and all the while raise money and awareness for our summer servant projects. This year we're changing things up and having the youth donate time to different activities that you all can bid on. Need a babysitter for those Christmas parties? How about some silver polished? This is your chance to get some help during the holiday season! Youth, you can download a Service Donation form HERE. -
Gathering of Angels
For over a decade, the Gathering of Angels has been a tradition of the Saint Luke's youth program. Each spring we gather together for a dinner/silent auction gala. This event is vital for our fundraising process and for the subsidization of our Fort Defiance trip for the Senior Youth program. Without the money raised here, the tremendous work we do in both Lewiston and Fort Defiance would come to a screeching halt. We hear about the youth program, bid on exotic items, and mingle with our fellow parishioners. This event is of course open to the whole parish, and whether you've had a youth in the program, will have a youth coming up, or even don't have a youth at all-we would love to see you there, dressed to the nines.
