Featuring our retreat leader Mary Potter, MDiv, BCC

Mary is a board-certified hospital chaplain and personal chef, working at the intersection of food, faith, and community care. She earned her Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and Diploma in Anglican Studies from Berkeley Divinity School in 2021. At Children’s National Hospital she specializes in women’s health and pediatric care, supports patients and loved ones with questions of faith, suffering, and loss, and leads initiatives on trauma-informed care, ethical decision making, and postpartum support. Outside the hospital she runs a personal chef business and community food initiative, catering private events and volunteering to cook for food insecure community members. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband David, daughter Florence, and dog Atticus, and looks forward to joining the Saint Luke’s community.
