Growing in Faith
Saint Luke’s is committed to helping each and every child grow in faith and come to know the love of God for themselves. We aim to create an environment of learning, wonder, and opportunity to help children build a spiritual foundation in the Episcopal tradition, and we see ourselves as partners with parents in helping our children grow into the people God is calling them to be as followers of Jesus.
Sundays at Saint Luke’s
Children of every age are always welcome in church at Saint Luke’s! Feel free to get up, use the bathroom, wiggle, giggle, and squirm. Kids of all ages can help themselves to coloring sheets, crayons, and books at the children’s kiosk right inside the Narthex.
Children are also welcome to participate in our child-specific programs offered on Sunday mornings, whether their participation be week-to-week or when it works best with your family’s schedule. These programs are open to all children; visitors and guests of parishioners are always welcome to join us!

Children’s Choir
Saint Luke’s chorister program, affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music in America, provides young singers with age-appropriate vocal training, superior music education, community building skills, excellent Christian education, and unique performance and travel opportunities. Our young choristers in the Saint Nicholas, Saint Cecilia, and Saint Gregory Choirs rehearse weekly and sing regularly in Church.
Other Opportunities to Connect
Beyond Sunday mornings, Saint Luke’s is a community where parents can find support and companionship, while our children grow up in the faith.
- StoryMakers – Wednesday nights 3-5th graders are invited to this mid-week opportunity to explore how they fit into God’s Story.
- Bible Builders – Children in K-2nd grade learn a Bible story each week, then “build” it using a choice of LEGO, playdough, art materials or other building materials.
- Playground Coffees – Once per month, Children’s Ministries hosts a “Playground Coffee” after the 10am Eucharist to give parents a chance to connect while their kids have a great time.
- Parenting Groups – Finding a community you can journey the journey of parenting with can be absolutely essential for many people. Saint Luke’s offers several groups where parents can find a safe place to learn, reflect, and grow.
- Special Services – In addition to Sunday worship, Saint Luke’s has a number of special family-friendly worship services throughout the year, including the Christmas Pageant, Epiphany, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week and Easter, and several “Family Worship” services where children offer the readings and prayer, the choristers sing, and a children’s homily is given.
- Vacation Bible School – Each summer, over the last full week of June, Saint Luke’s hosts a week-long Vacation Bible School for children. Kids enjoy arts and crafts, music, games, snacks, and time with the clergy learning stories from the Bible.
Saint Luke’s Parish School
The Saint Luke’s Parish School is an Episcopal School that provides a weekday ministry to young children without regard to race, religion, nationality, or economic status. The school is committed to fostering a close relationship between home, school, and parish. Our school’s goal is to prepare our children educationally, socially, and spiritually for their futures by helping the whole child grow in a developmentally appropriate atmosphere.
