Plan Your Visit

Welcome!

Whoever you are, and wherever you are in your journey of faith, I am so glad you found your way to Saint Luke’s. We are the Episcopal parish in Darien, Connecticut– though we come from all over Fairfield County, and beyond. We are young and old, rich and poor, married, single and divorced, straight and gay, confident in our faith and full of questions. But the thing we share is a love of Jesus, and a desire to grow in love of God, neighbor, and self. We are deeply committed to the vision of a world transformed – and lives transformed – by the love of Jesus Christ for all people.

The center of our life at Saint Luke’s is our worship, and I hope you will join us for a Sunday service soon. From our worship, we go out to Grow, Love, and Serve in Jesus’ name. As you get to know us, I hope you will trust that if something speaks to you, it just might be the Holy Spirit inviting you to learn more and get involved.

May God bless you and keep you on your journey of faith. And I can’t wait to meet you soon!

The Rev. Ryan Fleenor, Rector

What to Expect

Services are approximately 1 hour in length.

Children are ALWAYS welcome in worship at Saint Luke’s. Most Sundays from September through May, we offer a Children’s Chapel during the first half of the 10:00 am service, where children hear an age-appropriate sermon before returning to the “big church” to be with their parents for Communion. Children are also more than welcome at our Come As You Are service at 5:00 pm on Sunday evenings. There is a dedicated play area that allows families with kids of all ages to worship together.

Nursery care (for ages birth-36 months) is also available from 7:45-11:15 am in the Education Building.

Additional children’s programming is offered during our Discovery Hour on Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 am. Visit the children’s ministries webpage to learn more.

Our address is 1864 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820. We’re at the corner of Rings End Road and the Post Road. The main driveway for the church is off Rings End Road and leads to the lower parking lot at the back of the church. Accessible parking is available in the upper parking lot, which is also entered from Rings End Road.

Saint Luke’s is also  accessible by public transportation. There is a CT Transit stop on the Post Road right in front of Saint Luke’s.

You may wear whatever you feel comfortable in to worship at Saint Luke’s. Some members of the congregation dress up for church, some are dressed more casually, especially at our 5:00 pm Come As You Are service. It really doesn’t matter what you wear. What matters is that you feel comfortable.

You do not need to be an Episcopalian to attend a service at Saint Luke’s. We welcome everyone regardless of their beliefs. Everything you need to know to participate fully will be provided to you in a detailed service leaflet.

All baptized Christians, no matter their age or denomination, are welcome to receive communion in the Episcopal Church. Gluten free wafers are available, and those receiving the wine can either drink from the chalice, dip the bread into the wine, or simply receive the bread alone. Each of those is perfectly acceptable.

If you are not comfortable receiving communion, or are not yet a baptized Christian, you are very welcome to come forward to receive a blessing.

Saint Luke’s is open to all. Full stop. If you want to be here, we are glad you are here. And when you are ready to take that next step and claim this as your spiritual home, we would be delighted to help you do that. For us, that means a purposeful commitment to pray, work and give for the coming of God’s reign alongside your fellow Saint Lukers.

What this means for most people is that you attend worship regularly, contribute financially by way of a yearly pledge, and get involved in our common life. Our Director of Stewardship & Member Engagement, Maggie Domont, can help you figure out what exactly this looks like for you.

More Questions? We’re here to help.
