Our Knitting Ministry includes people of various ages and yarn-skill levels, united in offering support through handmade items, created with love. Knitters work on different projects, including sweet baby blankets shipped to the Princess Basma Centre in East Jerusalem, warm hats for the men of Pacific House, and beautiful prayer shawls and prayer squares – all of which are blessed by the clergy before being given out.
Our prolific knitters have created a stock of prayer squares, blessed and ready to bring comfort to anyone going through a life transition, medical treatment, difficult time, or who simply would receive joy from a tangible reminder that they are in our thoughts and always in God’s loving embrace. Stop into the Parish Office or call (203) 655-1456 to request a prayer square.
Knitters normally meet on the fourth Monday of each month from 7-8:30pm in the Terrace Room. New members are always welcome! Contact Nancy Heitz at [email protected]
