Christ and Holy Trinity Church Westport, in conjunction with Trinity Church Southport will host a screening of the film, “The Ordination of the Philadelphia Eleven” in Branson Hall, 75 Church Lane, Westport (parking available in lot behind the church off Elm Street), followed by a panel discussion led by CT women clergy. Please stay for refreshments.

About the Film:
On July 29 th , 1974, 11 women candidates were ordained by four Episcopal bishops at the Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia, PA. Come and see how this extraordinary event took place and hear about how women of the Episcopal Church came to take their place as ordained priests, after years of struggle, to be included and respected as people called to serve the Lord as clergy.

Join us at this event, commemorating an important step forward in recognizing the need for social justice and equality for women, and for all. There will be no charge, but donations will be gratefully accepted.

Let them know you are coming! Please respond to Gael Ficken at [email protected]
