TOUR Book Group
Mondays, December 2, 9 and 16; 1:30-3 PM, in the Taylor Room
Join us to read and discuss Author, Poet and Civil Rights Activist Maya Angelou’s second autobiography, Gather Together In My Name. Angelou writes about her years as a single teenage mother at the end of World War II, going from job to job, and offering powerful glimpses of the lives and times of many black people in the late 1940s and before the beginning of the civil rights movement.
This book group is offered in part by TOUR (Transforming Our Understanding of Race). TOUR’s mission is to transform the understanding of race within and beyond our community, building towards a vision of racial equity through education and engagement.
To attend, R.S.V.P. by emailing the Rev. Dawn Stegelmann, [email protected].
