Sunday Discovery Hour

Break Open the Word of God

Each Sunday from September through May, we gather in the Parish Hall at 9AM for our Discovery Hour Forum. Clergy and outside guests present on a topic related to faith and life, and then parishioners break into discussion at small tables. Join us each week, or whenever you are able. Nursery care is available for children.

Join us for our upcoming Discovery Hour talks:

February 11

To mark the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend in January, 29 Saint Lukers embarked on a Civil Rights pilgrimage to Birmingham, Selma, Montgomery, Tuskegee, and Atlanta. Members of the group will speak about their experiences, share photos and highlights of the trip, and explore how we are called as Christians to be engaged in the work of racial reconciliation and justice.

Six Perspectives on Jesus’s Passion & Resurrection

Sunday mornings in Lent | February 18 – March 31, 2024

This Lent, we will explore the story of Jesus’s death and resurrection in a new way, focusing on six characters and what their unique perspective on Jesus’s passion might teach us about what the story means for us today. Each week, our clergy will offer a close reading of the gospel texts, focusing on Pontius Pilate, Peter, Barabas, the Two Thieves, the Centurion, and Mary and the Beloved Disciple. Join us to see how your perspective just might be changed this Lent.
