Prayers for a Tumultuous World
Waking to headlines filled with conflict and suffering in our world can leave us feeling heavy-hearted, disoriented, and unsure. Yet, as people of God, we are not called to silence or despair, but to reflect God’s justice, mercy, and love in all that we do. Even in chaos, we bear witness to hope by showing up, speaking up, and living in the image of Christ in this world.
A message from our Bishops

Our Connecticut Bishops, Bishop Jeff and Bishop Laura, would like to speak directly to us all about some of the many challenges currently facing our world. Please take a moment to view their message.

The Rev. Ryan’s Trinity Sunday Sermon
How the Trinity calls us into service
The Rev. Ryan’s sermon at CAYA on Trinity Sunday reflected on how the Trinity tells us something essential about who we are, made with dignity in the image of a relational God, and what we are made for, to be about God’s mission: to draw all things back into right relationship with God, one another, and ourselves.

“Praying the News”
A resource for prayer
To help us engage in the world more faithfully, the Rev. Hannah offers a resource called “Praying the News,” created by the Catholic author Cameron Bellm. Her wise framework leaves space for our heavy hearts, while keeping us evermindful that when we feel angry or helpless, God is right there with us. May this resource offer assurance of God’s presence alongside us and that the Holy Spirit’s power is at work transforming our world all the time.

Join us in a Prayer for the Human Family
O God, you made us in your own image and redeemed us through Jesus your Son: Look with compassion on the whole human family; take away the arrogance and hatred which infect our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may serve you in harmony around your heavenly throne; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (BCP, 815)
